Auchmar Estate is a large property with a storied history located on Hamilton Mountain at 88 Fennel Avenue near Mohawk College and St Joseph's Healthcare. The property includes several buildings in a variety of conditions, including a gothic revival mansion extended in the 1960s with a chapel and dormitories, a coach house, and a dove cote, all on 9 acres of parkland. In 1999, in a land transfer, the City of Hamilton became the current owner.

The City of Hamilton is developing a plan for the future of Auchmar Estate and would like to invite the public to help shape this plan. Based on past consultation, with community interest groups and other interest holders, a vision for re-development has emerged that could include a unique mix of for-profit creative enterprises balanced with space for not-for-profit creative activities and community programs. The questions asked in the initial survey were developed to determine potential uses for Auchmar Estate.

With the initial survey data now collected, the second phase of consultation will focus on refining potential future uses for Auchmar Estate and evaluating these concepts with the community.
