Consultation has concluded

The City of Hamilton's Economic Development Division is undertaking a review of the existing Environmental Remediation and Site Enhancement Community Improvement Plan (ERASE CIP) which provides for various financial assistance programs to support the investigation, remediation and redevelopment of environmentally contaminated vacant or under-utilized properties, also known as ‘brownfields’.

The goal of the review is to ensure these programs continue to:

  1. Provide property owners and developers with effective financial assistance that encourage the investigation, remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties;
  2. Meet their intended goals in terms of supporting investment and assessment growth, improving the environmental condition of properties and supporting the broader revitalization of the City's urban area;
  3. Be financially sustainable for the City; and
  4. Align with community and Council priorities.

To inform our review, we want your feedback about our existing programs and to hear your ideas and suggestions for how the programs could be improved to further support investment and environmental remediation of properties in our urban area.
