Please include more artificial shade elements on and near the playground, with shaded benches and shaded areas for parents to sit with babies while older ones play. Those trees are going to take YEARS before they provide shade and new parks are always wayyy too hot and sunny to use (east Waterdown Springcreek is an example of this, the new build parks are way too hot and sunny to use in the summer, no shade for picnics or breaks for the little kids, no where to sit and watch younger kids safely without burning to a crisp). This is also a problem at the Burlington Spencer Smith waterfront... Lots of parks overlook this and it makes them too hot to use even after so much money and time has been spent planning and designing

The park design looks lovely, although it would be nice to have a splash pad rather than I multiuse court I still think the park looks wonderful.

In line with the City's Draft Biodiversity Action Plan, this park - and all other new or changing parks in the city - should (1) be planted with native and climate resilient trees, that support biodiversity in our area over the long-run; and (2) provide an area of native perennial plantings. Kids enjoy unstructured play in the outdoors - we should give them that opportunity, especially where more traditional ravines and "natural" outdoor areas are not around.

It would be nice if a splash pad could be added to this park since there is a great amount of space. The splash pad at the other end of Waterdown gets very busy and crowded, and with no outdoor community pool, we could use more areas to take our kids in the summer.

1. The steep hillside grading along the east property line is used every winter by the neighborhood children as a tobogganing area. A safe, open, and permitted tobogganing area without obstacles or pedestrian paths should be included in the design of Clear Skies Park.
2. Armourstone seating should be located around the playground equipment so parents have places to sit while their children play on the equipment.
