Help Shape the Future of Electric Mobility in Hamilton
The City of Hamilton is developing an Electric Mobility Strategy and Action Plan to prepare for the growing adoption of electric transportation and help achieve the City's goal of net zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.
Rising popularity of personal electric vehicles, e-mobility and municipal plans for fleet electrifications have created an opportunity for the City to create one inclusive strategy to address this demand and align all existing municipal strategies. The Strategy will identify how the City can support the transition to electric mobility by improving access to electric vehicle (EV) charging, supporting electric micromobility such as e-bikes and e-scooters, and creating policies and programs that make electric transportation more accessible, convenient, and equitable for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Whether you already drive an EV, are considering purchasing one, ride an e-bike, or simply want to share your perspective, we want to hear from you.
What will the Strategy deliver?
The Electric Mobility Strategy and Action Plan will provide:
A clear vision for the future of electric mobility in Hamilton.
An electric vehicle charging network and implementation plan in collaboration with interest holders.
Policy and program recommendations to support electric mobility adoption.
Improved alignment and integration of existing electric mobility City plans and policies.
A prioritized action plan with implementation timelines and performance measures.
Outcomes
The Strategy will result in:
A unified vision for electric mobility in the City of Hamilton
Integrated City-wide electric mobility plan and policy
Clear policy guidance to support electric mobility across the City
An electric vehicle network plan and implementation framework
Electric mobility phasing and implementation action plan with Key Performance Indicators, monitoring.
How can you help?
Your experiences and ideas will help shape the Strategy. We want to hear about:
Your experiences with electric vehicles, charging, and electric micromobility.
Barriers that make it difficult to adopt or use electric transportation.
Locations where additional public charging infrastructure is needed.
Opportunities that would encourage more people to choose electric transportation.
Your vision for the future of electric mobility in Hamilton.
Your feedback will help identify priorities and inform future policies, programs, and investments.

The City is developing an Electric Mobility Strategy to prepare for the growing use of electric transportation over the coming decades.
The Strategy will help guide where, when, and how electric vehicle charging infrastructure should be developed, identify opportunities to improve access to charging, and recommend policies and programs that support the transition to electric mobility. It will also consider emerging forms of transportation such as electric bicycles, electric scooters, and electric ride-hailing services.
Whether you currently own an electric vehicle or are simply interested in the future of transportation, your feedback will help shape the City's priorities.
This survey will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
Survey Deadline: October 8, 2026
