Art by more artists like me
Hello, my name is Robson sim, I was kicked out from my family house for not paying rent to my parents for four months in a row and im schizophrenic. I ended up in woodlands park on Barton and Sanford. I got sick with pneumonia and I was at 50 percent SpO2 and was On oxygen at st. Josephs 50 charlton campus for 1 month. I was then healed but they wouldn’t discharge me unti I had a fixed address. 2 months later I went to Salvation Army men’s shelter. 5 months later I moved to the YMCA. 2 months in I fire broke out in mens residences . I was then put into a motel for a month. Then from there I got city housing at 181 Jackson st west. August 31 st I moved in. for the first month I felt out of place. Dealing with schizophrenia and being away from my family. I would cry, feel depressed, talk in my head, hear a little girls voice in my head, thought I was getting messages from God and aliens from space ships in outer space, I would have a mental picture of people flying in homemade space ships. It’s been a tough journey since being diagnosed schizophrenic. I would love to see art by artists from marginalized communities, especially those with mental illness.
