Why Engage

The voices of our residents and their expert knowledge of their neighbourhoods are at the core of city building efforts. Residents are invited to engage with the City on issues and projects that are important to them and where they live. Participating in city building allows for residents to contribute their expertise, skills, talents, and experiences to inform decision-making that shapes City projects, initiatives, and policies. Engaging with the City helps to build a more vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming Hamilton that is reflective of the hopes, interests, and aspirations of its residents.

Engaging residents on issues that affect their lives and their city is a key component of democratic society. Meaningfully engaging with residents in city building initiatives help to build long-term relationships and trust that helps to develop meaningful solutions to complex issues.

Ways to Engage

Engage Hamilton offers residents access to a variety of engagement tools, information, and opportunities to participate in projects that matter to them. Each City-led project is committed to implementing the most meaningful engagement tools and methods to deliver on our promise to community, outlined in Hamilton’s Levels of Engagement (to Consult, to Involve, or to Collaborate).
