The City of Hamilton (City) is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the creation of a new link between Highway 6 South and Red Hill Business Park (RHBP). The 2018 Hamilton Transportation Master Plan (TMP) identified the creation of a new link between Highway 6 South and RHBP as a potential solution to improve the efficiency of goods movement in South Hamilton. This conceptual link has since been incorporated into the Strategic Transportation Network Review (STNR) and the 2024 development charge study. The opportunity and rationale for this connection was further advanced as part of the Hamilton Truck Route Master Plan completed in 2022. The next step is to determine the feasibility and preferred alignment of the Airport Conceptual Link by undertaking an MCEA.

The study will evaluate the feasibility and preferred alignment of this conceptual link, considering community connectivity, active transportation, and the potential to provide alternate access rotues for emergency services and traffic movement.

We want to hear from you!

We want to hear thoughts on the proposed Airport Link, what are your transportation challenges on this route? How can the City ensure efficient movement of goods without adversely affecting neighbourhing communities?
