Alexander Park is a 4.17 hectare (10.32 acre) neighbourhood park located at 201 Whitney Avenue by Rifle Range Road. The park includes one hardball field, three softball fields, batting cages, a play structure (2020), swings, and a spray pad (2018).

In addition to a proposed Skate Park project undertaken by Landscape Architectural Services, the City of Hamilton’s Recreation and Facilities teams are collaborating to renovate and update the Clubhouse building located at the north-west end of the park grounds.

The goal of the Alexander Park Clubhouse Renewal project is to provide an accessible, multi-purpose space for community use and programming opportunities. The existing storage building at the park will be renewed and updated to better serve the needs of the community.

In Fall 2021, feedback was gathered from community members and key stakeholders to help inform the project. The survey aimed to identify desired amenity improvements within the park, and what additional features could be improved within the existing building.

A feasibility study was completed, and two draft designs for the layout of the proposed Clubhouse have been prepared.

The City is engaging residents once again to choose between the two proposed designs. We encourage residents to participate and have a say in which Clubhouse design they feel will better serve the Alexander Park community.

  • CLOSED: This survey has concluded.

The main goal of the survey included in this Engage Hamilton project is to allow residents to choose between two potential design options for the Alexander Park Clubhouse. There are also some simple demographic questions included as well, to gain perspective on the type of residents that engage in the project.

The data will be reviewed from both a quantitative perspective (which design option received the most votes) and a qualitative perspective (why residents chose a particular design). Using this information, a design will be selected.
