Consultation has concluded

Since 2015, the City Enrichment Fund (CEF) has invested in local charities, not-for-profit, artists* and grassroots organizations across seven sector areas in Hamilton each year. Designed in consultation with community and City staff across multiple departments, we continue to take steps towards making improvements to program delivery, accessibility, reaching equity-deserving groups, and ensuring alignment with best practices.

About City Enrichment Fund (CEF)

CEF is the City of Hamilton’s central funding program, making annual investments through seven unique program areas:

  • Agriculture
  • Arts
  • Communities, Culture and Heritage
  • Community Services
  • Digital
  • Environment
  • Sport and Active Lifestyles

Each year, applications are processed by staff and reviewed by an adjudication team made up of arms-length reviewers and City staff. In 2023, CEF program provided funding to 313 applicants, totaling $6,575,410.

*In 2016, the arts CEF program area launched the Creation and Presentation stream, which funds professional artist projects. It is the only stream to fund artist projects directly.

  • CLOSED: This survey has concluded.

This survey is an opportunity to inform a set of Funding Principles that will help guide the City in the yearly funding recommendations. City Enrichment Fund staff will be sharing the survey results with the public during an in-person meeting this October, where we will work together to further prioritize and shape the results.
