The City of Hamilton is hosting a Community Safety Summit on Monday, November 10, 2025. It is an open, city-led forum where residents, community organizations, Hamilton Police Services and sector leaders will discuss four priority safety issues in Hamilton: hate, gender-based violence, youth violence, and gun violence. The day will include an expert panel, a review of current trends and data on community safety in Hamilton, and facilitated roundtable discussions on the most pressing issues and practical solutions. Everyone is welcome to listen, learn, and share perspectives.
Community Safety Summit
Mayor Andrea Horwath invited Hamiltonians to a Community Safety Summit on November 10, bringing together residents, community organizations, local leaders, and the Hamilton Police Service to explore practical ways to enhance safety, inclusion, and trust in Hamilton.
This short public survey was open before, during, and after the Summit. We know many residents have already shared feedback through the 2025 Hamilton Community Safety Survey (funded by Hamilton Police Service; conducted by Wilfrid Laurier University), the City’s Downtown safety and vibrancy work, and the Community Safety & Well-Being (CSWB) Plan. This survey will add to that input and gives you another way to share or update your views. Your responses will help the City and partners understand what is happening across neighbourhoods, highlight needs and opportunities, and support practical next steps across programs and services.
