Eastwood Park is a 6.0-hectare community park in the North End neighbourhood of central Hamilton’s Ward 2. It is home to softball and soccer fields, a basketball court, a multi-purpose court, an accessible creative play structure, a spray pad, and a sun shelter /washroom/ changeroom building.
The existing spray pad in the park is nearing the end of its life cycle and is now in need of replacement. This replacement will use the same footprint of the existing spray pad, and will include a number of spray pad features typical of other community parks.
The City of Hamilton is seeking public feedback that will be used to give the Eastwood spray pad and features a much-needed update.
Please note that this is not a spray pad expansion project; a similar footprint, and a similar number of new spray pad elements to the existing spray pad, will be used for the new design.

Based on information gathered during the first survey conducted in 2021, two (2) concepts have been developed for the Eastwood Park Spray Pad. We are asking the community to vote on which design they would prefer to see implemented at Eastwood Park, and to provide any additional comments for our design team. Please review the two (2) Spray Pad Concepts below and project description prior to answering the survey questions. The survey will be open for two (2) weeks; thank you for your time and we look forward to receiving your input.
Ocean Journey Concept
Supporting the nautical theme of Eastwood Park, Ocean Journey provides an island setting for the spray pad users. Island/Pirate themed features including a vertical palm tree element on land, and sea creatures in the ocean adding another level of interaction. Please note that the features and paving will reflect the colour scheme of the existing adjacent park.
AHOY Concept
Also supporting the nautical theme of Eastwood park, we explored International Marine Signal Flags and their meanings. C/Charlie/Yes/Affirmative has been applied to the paving pattern for its positive message and vibrant look. Please note that the features and paving will reflect the colour scheme of the existing adjacent park.
