Consultation has concluded
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requires transportation service providers to hold at least one public meeting each year. At the HSR, we take advantage of these yearly opportunities to learn from our customers about what is important to them, and to tell our customers how we are improving accessibility across the system, both on Accessible Transportation Services (ATS/ DARTS) and conventional HSR service.
During to the COVID-19 pandemic, our event was held virtually. This year’s meeting will include an in-person and virtual option. The meeting will take place on Thursday November 3, 2022 from 5 to 6 pm.
The in-person meeting will take place in the Hamilton Room of the Central Branch of Hamilton Public Library, 55 York Blvd.
For attendees of the in-person meeting, small group discussions will take place after the meeting (6-7 PM) facilitated by City staff and members of the Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities. The small group discussions will not be recorded.
We are looking for your feedback and questions via the link to our survey(External link) until November 30, 2022; alternatively, you can provide feedback
In person: fill out a comment card or a survey at the HSR Customer Service Centre at 36 Hunter St. E. (Hamilton GO Centre) or at any Municipal Service Centre
Mail: Accessible Transportation Services c/o 71 Main Street West Hamilton, ON L8P 4Y5
If you require a copy of the presentation in an alternative format (e.g. print copy or Braille), or accessibility accommodations to provide feedback or to attend the meeting, or if you have any questions about this public consultation, please contact us
We will review all customer comments and questions to address key issues and questions in our virtual meeting. But we won’t stop there. We will gather all the feedback we receive and use it to inform both our accessibility plans and our day-to-day operations. By participating on the Engage Hamilton platform, you will help us learn the best way to keep using this tool to help you reach out to us, even when we are able to gather in person again.
Information will be collected in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. With the exception of personal information, all comments will become part of the public record.
