Calling Climate Champions

The City of Hamilton is creating a first ever Community Climate Change Advisory Committee. This Committee will be an important piece of Hamilton’s Climate Action Strategy.

While developing Hamilton’s Climate Action Strategy throughout 2021 and 2022, City Staff heard through public and stakeholder engagement the importance of establishing a transparent reporting and oversight structure that includes citizen participation that is equally represented from the diverse voices across Hamilton.

City Staff will be completing a variety of engagement activities over the next few months in order to consult and collaborate with interested stakeholders and citizens in order to develop the Terms of Reference for the Community Climate Change Advisory Committee.

Recruitment is Now Closed!

The Interview Sub-Committee to the General Issues Council (GIC) is in the process of reviewing applications to the Climate Change Advisory Committee. Once this phase has been completed and appointees have been selected, all applicants will be contacted via email.

If you would like to receive regular updates from the Office of Climate Change Initiatives (OCCI) regarding CCAC and other climate-related news, please email climatechange@hamilton.ca(External link) to be added to the distribution list.
