I oppose the Provincial legislative and policy changes that enable privately initiated urban boundary expansion applications. How do I provide this comment?

The City of Hamilton also opposed the changes to Provincial legislation and policy that have opened the door for new privately initiated urban boundary expansion applications. Understanding the Government of Ontario’s powers and authority to require that these applications be processed by the City, the City’s engagement is focused around how the public wants to be notified and participate in the City’s review.

It is recommended that any comment opposing the recent changes made by the Province, including it’s approval of the new Provincial Planning Statement and adoption of Bill 185 be submitted directly to the Government of Ontario. Any public comments received through the City’s engagement to this effect will also be recorded and conveyed to the Province.
