Municipal Election 2022: Voter Experience, Enhancing Accessibility & Addressing Barriers to Voting
Consultation has concluded
Under the Municipal Elections Act, the City Clerk is responsible for ensuring that elections are fair and accessible to all voters.
Following the 2022 Municipal Election, the City of Hamilton wants to understand access to voting and the experience of the voters.
To help meet this goal, Elections staff are asking voters and the community about engagement, communications, accessibility and the overall voting experience.
- Voter experience survey: Your feedback will help us benchmark what processes need enhanced communication and outreach. There are also opportunities for written feedback; community members are encouraged to share their experiences.
We recognize not everyone has access to a digital survey, as such, we have made surveys available in-person at all Hamilton Public Library(External link) branches, to ensure as many prospective voters have the opportunity to complete the survey as possible

Suggest a voting location
We invite you to suggest a location that may not have been used as a poll location in the past. Use the "Add Pin" to mark the location on the map. There is an option to include additional notes. Your suggestion will be considered and, if feasible, be added as an eligible voting location.
The City of Hamilton must ensure voting locations are accessible, open to the public, and will meet public health safety protocols. There are many considerations when deciding a poll location, including previous voter turnout and anticipated staffing.
